AFTERCARE

Days 1-4

After the tattoo is finished, you will typically leave the studio with a 'second skin' protective film on. This can be left on for up to 6 days, although if irritation occurs you should remove it immediately.

If you do take the second skin off early, you need to be extra careful and keep the tattoo as clean as possible to avoid infection.

Carefully clean your tattoo once/twice a day with unscented soap, pat it dry with paper towels and apply a thin layer of tattoo cream.

Avoid sunlight, bathing, swimming and sauna for at least two weeks.

Days 4-10

Keep cleaning your tattoo with mild soap and lukewarm water, then pat it dry. Use a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer.

Avoid soaking or exposing it to direct sunlight; do not scratch any scabs.

Days 10-16

By around two weeks your tattoo should be healed. Keep lightly applying the tattoo lotion for some time still.

Keep it out of sun.

Although tattoos are permanent, the way they age over the years can vary a lot.

Sun exposure, diet, hydration and how you take care of your skin, affect how the tattoo ends up looking over the years.

Using a SPF 30+ at all times outside, protects your skin from damaging UV rays, resulting in healthier skin for longer.

See sun damage difference by using SPF and not over 40 years
